Published Mon 17 Mar 2025

Our club is buzzing with pride as two of our standout athletes, Evie and Thomas, have qualified to represent Coffs Coast Athletics Club at the Australian Junior Championships in Perth from April 4-8, 2025. These talented young competitors are proof of the dedication and spirit thriving within our club, and they’re ready to take on the nation’s best!

Evie, our 15-year-old athletics dynamo, will tackle the U/16 Heptathlon,a challenging seven-event competition over two days, as well as the 90m hurdles. Known for her versatility and relentless work ethic, Evie has earned her place among Australia’s top junior athletes. Whether she’s leaping hurdles or powering through the heptathlon, Evie’s performance is sure to turn heads as she proudly wears the Coffs Coast colors.

Not far behind is 13-year-old sprint star Thomas, who will blaze down the track in the 200m and 400m events. Thomas has already wowed us locally with his speed and fierce determination, and now he’s set to show Australia’s elite junior sprinters what he’s made of.

Club President Simon Hill couldn’t be prouder: “Evie and Thomas have worked incredibly hard to reach this level. Their qualification for the Australian Junior Championships is a testament to their talent and commitment, and they’re an inspiration to everyone at Coffs Coast Athletics Club. We’re all cheering for them as they head to Perth!”

The Australian Junior Championships are a showcase of the country’s most promising young athletes, and Evie and Thomas will carry the hopes of our club and the Coffs Coast community as they compete for national glory.
