MNC Cross Country – Coffs Creek Walkway – 3 July 2016

Jess Deans was back with a vengeance on Sunday in the Coffs Creek Walkway edition of the Mid North Coast Cross Country Series, taking out both the 2 kms and 5 kms events. No less impressive was the running of 8 year old Daniel Williams who chased Jyii Mann home in the 2 kms and followed with an even closer runner-up spot to Mitchell Karrasch in the 5 kms. Both runs were under 4 minutes per kilometre pace.

Mann also impressed with his win in the 2kms followed up with a third in the 5kms.

Tony Woolford looked to be headed for a rare defeat in the 10kms until American visitor, Adam Irons, lack of local knowledge saw him take a wrong turn on the way back to the finish. Woolfoord finished with 38.18 to Irons 39.46 with Ed Brazier keeping both honest with a 39.58. Tina Thompson broke through for victory in the ladies race despite a detour of her own near halfway. Tracy Austin was runner-up with Diane Keenan just outlasting Lyn Fulton to claim third.

Max Iggulden claimed third spot in the male 2kms while Alana Wardman was comfortably clear of Hannah Willis to finish runner-up to Dean in the female 2kms.

In the female 5 kms the consistent, Fiona Bagley was runner-up  39 seconds ahead of Isabel Garrett.
