MNC Cross Country – Emerald Beach – 29 May 2016

Harrison Colyer scorched over the sands of Emerald Beach to take out the Mid North Coast 2 kms cross country in the slick time of 6.11 on Sunday. Others to make the most of the flat all beach course were Tim Martin (6.20), Daniel Williams (6.44) and young ladies Jess Deans (6.21), Olissa Onley (6.39) and Cloe Nolan (7.26).

Jonny Gusman broke through for his ‘maiden’ victory in the 5 kms which he covered in 18.02 despite having to circumnavigate Dammerel and Look-at-me-now Headlands. In second and third, Mitchell Karrasch and Ben Burridge both went under 19 minutes as well.

Jess Deans backed up to make it yet another double success, clocking 19.47 to Chloe Bulloch’s 20.53 and Fiona Bagley’s 21.02.

Luke Tarrant, home on holidays from Uni in Canberra, showed the 10kms field a clean pair of heels, leading in Tony Woolford and first lady, Karlie Swanson with all three comfortably under 37 minutes. Ed Brazier filled third for the men while Emerald locals, Tina Thompson and Janie Mahoney filled second and third for the women.

With 78 finishing the 2 kms and 76 the 5/10kms the starts made spectacular viewing for the  Emerald Beach Fair-goers as runners streamed down the beach and later wound their way around the headlands.
